In 2018, she returned to Morgantown and accepted a clinical pharmacy specialist position at Allied Health Solutions Specialty Pharmacy with WVU Medicine. Following residency training, she took a clinical and staffing position with Kroger in Charlottesville, VA. She completed a PGY1 Community-Based Residency at Kroger Pharmacy in affiliation with WVU School of Pharmacy. Tour Allied Health Specialty Pharmacy PGY1 Community-Based Residency Program DirectorĪbbi Blevins, PharmD, MBA, graduated from West Virginia University School of Pharmacy in 2016. All core learning experiences have been established in accordance with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and American Pharmacists Association (APhA) standards. Each resident will have the opportunity to modify the program based on interests and goals. The resident will be on call each quarter, which includes one winter (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s) and one summer holiday (Easter, Memorial Day). Four weeks of elective time are available to the resident and can be spent in the area of their choosing. In addition, the following projects are required of each resident: a formal business, plan, a manuscript suitable for publication, and a quality improvement project. The program is a twelve-month, postgraduate training experience composed of the following longitudinal learning experiences: The residency year will allow growth and development under the guidance of model practitioners while receiving constructive feedback focused around self-reflection The resident will receive education and training focused towards improving the health of our region while allowing growth in leadership skills and professional development. The resident will build upon their Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education to develop problem-solving strategies and growth of their clinical judgment throughout the year. The PGY-1 Community-Based Residency focused in Specialty Pharmacy at WVU Hospital’s Specialty Pharmacy, Allied Health Solutions, will have the opportunity to accelerate their professional entry-level competence in a patient-centered environment focusing on both the clinical and operational components of community pharmacy. The purpose of the Post Graduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency Program is to build upon the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to develop community‐based specialty pharmacist practitioners with diverse patient care, leadership, and education skills who are eligible to pursue advanced training opportunities including postgraduate year two (PGY2) residencies and professional certifications.
